quattro® permanent all-wheel drive.

The quattro® permanent all-wheel-drive system underwent complete redevelopment for the TT Coupé and TTS Coupé. With the aid of the electrohydraulic multi-plate clutch, the drive power is split between the front and rear wheels to optimum effect while factoring in the driving state, road conditions and driver type. Driving pleasure and safety are taken to new heights.

A sporty driving style results in more power being directed to the rear wheels – for superb handling in corners especially. Safe, controlled drifts can be executed on road surfaces with low grip levels.

For the first time, the permanent all-wheel drive has also been combined with the Audi drive select driving dynamics control system. This gives the driver the choice of five driving modes: comfort, auto, dynamic, efficiency and individual. Audi drive select is furthermore fitted with a number of optional technical features, such as Audi magnetic ride (standard on the TTS Coupé) and the 6‑speed S tronic transmission.

The control unit keeps a watchful eye on the driving characteristics and the state of the road at all times. Depending on the selected driving mode, the TT Coupé and TTS Coupé offer a comfortable, balanced or decidedly firm ride. In the dynamic mode, the engine unleashes its full power. Individual wheels are braced during high-speed cornering so as to keep the vehicle glued to the road; rolling movements are largely suppressed and steering response becomes even more spontaneous.

All-wheel drive is available as an option for the TT Coupé with the 2.0 TFSI engine and is fitted as standard on the TTS Coupé.
